Tristram Baumber is an award-winning comedy writer and producer who has created and written a string of hit TV shows for Australian and international audiences. Tristram co-created, wrote and executive produced THE PM’S DAUGHTER, a critically acclaimed political satire series for younger audiences, which aired on ABC TV and was produced by Fremantle Australia. He was nominated for two AACTA Awards for his work on the show. Tristram is also a writer on hit TV series MOTHER AND SON, the heartwarming family comedy for Wooden Horse and ABC TV.
Tristram’s previous TV credits include writing for THE UNLISTED for ABC TV and Netflix, BORN TO SPY for ABC TV and THE OTHER GUY for Stan and Hulu. Tristram also worked on TIMOTHY, a 2014 ABC TV comedy starring Stephen Curry and Denise Scott, which he created and which was previously developed for an international audience by Quail TV and NBC London; THE CLEANISTS, a short-form sitcom that he produced and released online after a successful crowd-funding campaign; and WEDNESDAY NIGHT FEVER, a 2013 topical comedy for ABC TV.
From 2017 to 2019, Tristram worked as In-House Writer for Aquarius Films, a role for which he was selected as part of the Screen Australia Enterprise People placement initiative.
Tristram is also a prolific playwright, whose short comedy plays have been performed across Australia, New Zealand and India. He is currently developing romantic comedy feature FAKING CHRISTMAS and kids’ comedy series #BOSSLYFE. His found-footage horror comedy mashup feature film, provisionally titled BADLANDS REVELATION, is shooting in the Hunter region of NSW in the second half of 2024.
