Romina is a multi-AWGIE nominated screenwriter and script producer. Romina was a core writer and script editor on ABC’s half-hour drama THE HEIGHTS for Matchbox Pictures. She stepped up to script produce alongside remaining as a core writer on the second season of THE HEIGHTS which was nominated for a 2020 ACCTA Award for Best Drama Series.
Romina started her career on HOME AND AWAY where she worked as a Script Editor, Associate Script Producer, and Associate Story Producer. Her other screen credits include NEIGHBOURS, HERE COME THE HABIBS, and LOVE CHILD. A regular lead contributor to writers’ rooms, Romina has worked with companies including Fremantle Australia, Jungle Entertainment, Matchbox Pictures and Northern Pictures.
A dedicated writer with a great passion for telling character driven stories, in 2018 Romina’s original concept POSITIVE – a half-hour comedy/drama about a woman living with HIV – was accepted into the Create NSW/ABC Half-hour Drama Development Initiative.
Recent television credits include writing two episodes and script consulting on Kacie Anning’s half hour comedy series CLASS OF 07 for Matchbox/NBCU together with Amazon; writing and story editing on the UK/Australian comedy series THE SPREADSHEET created by Kala Ellis for Northern Pictures and Paramount+; for Subtext Pictures/Channel 9 Romina wrote an episode of a new drama AFTER THE VERDICT; and for Fremantle Media Australia and Netflix, Romina wrote 2 episodes alongside script producing on the new comedy series WELLMANIA based on Brigid Delany’s book and starring Celeste Barber.
Romina has several projects she is currently developing including an original drama/comedy series THE PASTOR’S WIFE which she has created, will write and EP alongside producers Jungle Entertainment and About Premium Content; a comedy/drama series for Matchbox/NBCU co-created with Hannah Carroll Chapman inspired by the hit ABC podcast SNOWBALL; and an original drama/romance co-created with Keir Wilkins for Fremantle Media Australia.
