Ian Meadows is a writer, director and actor.
Ian’s TV writing credits include Foxtel’s SPIRITED season 1 and 2, Channel 10’s OFFSPRING, the Fox 8 series SLIDE and ABC’s THE MOODYS; Season 5 of Channel Nine’s HOUSE HUSBANDS; Season 2 of Channel 10’s THE WRONG GIRL; Season 1 of Channel 10’s PLAYING FOR KEEPS; SBS and Lingo Pictures 4 part drama ON THE ROPES and SEACHANGE for Everycloud Productions and Channel 9.
Most recently Ian has co-created, lead written the 8 part drama series RFDS for EndemolShine and Channel 7, which he has also co-script produced.
He co-wrote and acted in the AFI award nominated short Water, and co-wrote and directed the short film A PARACHUTE FALLING IN SIBERIA which won an Australian Writers Guild Award and received an AFI award nomination. Ian adapted and directed DEFENDER, a segment of Tim Winton’s THE TURNING, which was produced by Robert Connolly and AACTA nominated for Best Direction.
For theatre, Ian wrote and co-directed the play FOUR DEATHS IN THE LIFE OF RONALDO ABOK at Riverside Theatres Parramatta and his play BETWEEN TWO WAVES premiered at Griffin Theatre Company in 2012, winning Belvoir Theatre Company’s 2013 Phillip Parsons Award.
